Lead Teacher – Instructional Coach (Head Start)
Location:
1408 Robert Street, Sac City, IA 50583, United States
Employee Type:
Regular Full‑Time (40 hours/week, year‑round)
- Document and monitor children’s progress to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum in meeting developmental needs.
- Conduct instruction following lesson plans while adapting to individual learning styles, promoting successful classroom performance for each student.
- Encourage each child to develop a positive self‑concept and support that self‑concept by creating a developmentally appropriate environment where children feel comfortable to express feelings, question, explore, experiment, and solve problems.
- Participate in lunch‑time activities by assisting with food preparation, serving, and cleanup.
- Maintain an organized, clean classroom and present engaging activities to students.
- Supervise the Food Program at center level to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create and maintain accurate, confidential reports and records within applicable regulations and performance standards.
- Supervise staff in the development and implementation of the curriculum and in maintaining a safe, orderly, and quality learning environment.
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive professional relationships with all teachers.
- Adhere to the research‑based Practice‑Based Coaching strategy through consistent implementation of the program’s coaching plan.
- Review or conduct assessments on education staff to identify strengths and areas needing support. Based on assessments, determine coaching level and provide coaching accordingly.
- Maintain reliability for assessment tools as required.
- Develop and monitor individual coaching plans with specific goals and growth areas.
- Review coaching goals with Center Supervisors and management staff and report on progress.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Center Supervisors and the Head Start/Early Head Start Director.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with Early Childhood Endorsement.
- Previous teaching experience required.
- Ability to pass all child‑care licensing requirements.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
