The Substitute Teacher carries out the instructional plans and supervises students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role ensures a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment, following school policies and procedures.

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to facilitate student learning.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and classroom procedures.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school spaces as needed.
• Report any incidents, concerns, or unusual student behaviors to appropriate school personnel.
• Follow all policies, rules, and procedures of the school district.
• Complete all required documentation and submit reports as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the building principal or designated administrator.

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum);
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid substitute teaching license or teaching certification as required by the state.
• Prior teaching or childcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

• May work in various schools across the district.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift classroom materials.
• Workday schedule aligns with school hours and may vary by assignment.
