Salary Range: 1-F EMPLOYER/EMPLOYEE PAID $18.23 – $27.22
EMPLOYER PAID PERS $15.34 – $22.91

Under the guidance of site administration, assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment; assists in preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans, curriculum and teaching methodologies; provides routine clerical support.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Assist individual or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher; monitor student drills, practice and assignments in various subjects; confer with the teacher on lesson plans.
- Assist students in reading program activities, motivate students to improve reading and writing, read books to students, observe reading abilities, assist with letter and word pronunciation and recognition; reinforce phonics, vocabulary and comprehension in learning centers, small groups or one-on-one.
- Assist students in completing classroom assignments, homework, make‑up work and projects; adapt activities and materials under teacher direction; assist in operation of instructional technology.
- Ensure student understanding of classroom rules and procedures; answer questions, provide examples, emotional support, friendly attitude and guidance.
- Observe and control behavior of students in classroom according to approved procedures; monitor during outdoor, lunch, library and recess activities; accompany students on field trips and bus stops; assist with yard duty; monitor and report progress on student performance and behavior.
- Perform clerical duties such as preparing, typing, duplicating and filing instructional materials; maintain student records, notes and files.
- Support teacher by setting up computers, audio‑visual equipment, work areas and displays, bulletin boards; assemble student booklets; distribute and collect supplies.
- Arrange and store classroom materials, furniture and accessories to maintain a safe, orderly and clean learning environment.
- Communicate with faculty, staff, administrators to resolve issues or concerns related to student activities and behavior.
- Operate classroom and office equipment including computer, copier and laminator; report observations and incidents; respond to emergency situations and assist in safety concerns.
- Assist students with test preparation skills; administer and proctor various tests such as CELDT, ADEPT or others.
- Supervise students on playground, cafeteria, lunch area, classroom, restrooms and hallways to ensure safe and appropriate behavior.
- Effectively manage students under supervision enforcing school rules and district policies.
- Guide students in developing desirable social skills and habits.
- Ensure general welfare and safety of students; report accidents and hazardous conditions to site administration.
