Purpose:
Plan and implement an instructional program that prepares students for educational pathways and occupations in the profession of Architecture. Provide students with real‑world experiences through classroom instruction, hands‑on application, and work‑based learning opportunities.
- Education / Certification:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (as permitted).
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or out‑of‑state teaching certificate appropriate for the position.
- Valid Texas CTE Trade and Industry teaching certificate (or equivalent based on State Board standards) from an approved educator preparation program (EPP).
- Certification must meet requirements of Federal and/or State law.

Skills:- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in software and technology related to the Architectural Design program including AutoCAD, Sketch Up Pro, Revit, Epilog laser cutter, and Wacom tablets.
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, peers, parents, administrators, business partners, and the community.
- Experience:
- Two (2) years of full‑time wage‑earning experience within the last ten years in an approved occupation for Architectural Design.
- Teach and enhance classes that meet the needs for priority occupations in architecture.
- Adhere to district’s philosophy of instruction; develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill curriculum requirements and provide written evidence of preparation.
- Plan, develop, and deliver instruction physically and digitally, leveraging approved learning management systems and personalized learning vehicles.
- Prepare lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles; present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Integrate academic core curriculum into meaningful, relevant content; conduct effective classroom and lab instruction while maintaining discipline; create and sustain a positive, safe learning environment.
- Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula for special educational students, following Individual Education Plan (IEP) guidelines.
- Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
- Use technology to enhance the teaching/learning process.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits; conduct ongoing assessment of achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Co‑sponsor an approved career and technical student organization and promote participation in leadership and competition opportunities.
- Act as a positive role model and support the district mission.
- Maintain a business and industry partner network in Architectural Design to keep curriculum relevant and current with job placement demands.
- Create a learning environment conducive to learning for all developmental stages.
- Manage student behavior according to Student Code of Conduct and handbook in the classroom and at work sites.
- Ensure safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities; assist in selecting instructional materials.
- Equitably distribute inventory, ordering, and receiving duties among peers.
- Continue developing and refining an industry‑standard program for post‑secondary pathways and priority occupations.
- Collaborate with principals, teachers, higher education and industry advisors to provide work‑based experiences for students.
