Position: Title 1 Aide (HES)
Location: Humboldt

Starting Date: Aug 5, 2026

Job Summary

Assists Title I teachers in delivering a well‑organized intervention program for students in need of supplemental instruction in reading and math.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists teachers in establishing an effective learning environment.
  • Prepares instructional materials upon request.
  • Collects Title I reporting data.
  • Maintains vigilance for signs of child abuse or neglect.
  • Participates in professional growth activities.
  • Provides positive reinforcement to students.
  • Assists with evaluating and testing students individually on a weekly basis or when requested.
  • Handles routine clerical work as assigned.
  • Supervises students outside the classroom when requested.
  • Assists the teacher during instruction and evaluation of student work.
  • Works with small groups or one‑on‑one to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
  • Assists with administrative and non‑instructional activities.
  • Provides small‑group instruction autonomously with general guidance from Title I teachers.
  • Manages student behavior while instructing.
  • Participates in weekly rotation schedule.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Operates standard classroom learning tools, equipment, and specialized platforms.
  • Works effectively with school‑age children.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Produces accurate work and completes assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Applies common‑sense problem solving to practical situations.
  • Works cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents, and community members.
  • Knows applicable federal and state laws, district procedures, and Board policies.
  • Handles confrontation and conflict without emotional response.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed at least two years of college study, holds an associate’s degree or higher, or passed paraprofessional assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Previous classroom instruction experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that meets minimum requirements.
  • IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Computer Proficiency

Demonstrated general proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite.

Physical Demands

Employee may reach with hands and arms, sit frequently, occasionally stand and walk, move up to ten pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to twenty‑five pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Indoor office environment; noise level generally quiet to moderate, may become excessively noisy tact is made with employees, external agencies, and the public.
