NATURE OF WORK

Must hold a North Carolina license in Administration (code 012).

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pre-Class Organization: assists in implementing student orientation and registration activities.
  • Planning the School Program: assists in the development and establishment of school goals and objectives and the planning of the school's instructional program.
  • Implementing the School Program: assists in providing direction to staff to implement goals and objectives and interacts with staff to assist in their development.
  • Evaluation and Remediation of the School Program: assists in evaluating the school program and staff and initiates needed improvements.
  • Involving the Staff in Budget Allocations: involves staff in setting budget priorities.
  • Keeping Professionally Competent: acts to upgrade own professional knowledge and skills.
  • Coordinating Budgets and Schedules: assists in the preparation and management of budgets and schedules and in the coordination and implementation of the co‑curricular program.
  • Handling Disciplinary Procedures: assists in defining and disseminating school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community.
  • Coordinating and Communicating the Schools Formal Structure: communicates and carries out established policies, delegates and accepts responsibility for task completion, and communicates program goals, objectives and policies to the community.
  • Coordinating School Services and Resources: assists in supervising and maintaining auxiliary services and uses community resources to supplement the school program.
  • Facilitating Organizational Efficiency: promotes open communication, positive student attitudes, and respects the dignity and worth of staff and students, complying with established lines of authority.
  • Assisting in Record Keeping: assists in completing records and reports and supervising inventory of necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment and materials.
MINIMUM STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM RESPONSIBILITIES

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators, etc.; operate a motor vehicle; exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; perform light work such as walking or standing.

Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people, or things.

Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information, give instructions or assignments.

Language Ability: Requires reading a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, strategic plans, etc.; preparing correspondence, reports, budgets; speaking before groups with poise and confidence.

Intelligence: Requires applying logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires recording and delivering information, explaining procedures, following oral and written instructions, and communicating effectively in standard English.

Numerical Aptitude: Requires using mathematical formulas, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, using decimals, percentages, algebra, descriptive statistics, and inference.

Form/Spatial Aptitude: Requires inspecting items for proper length, width, and shape.

Motor Coordination: Requires coordinating hands and eyes rapidly and accurately when using office equipment.

Manual Dexterity: Requires handling a variety of office items and hand tools with minimal eye/hand coordination.

Color Discrimination: Does not require differentiating colors and shades.

Interpersonal Temperament: Requires dealing with people beyond giving instructions, adapting to stress, and emergency situations.

Physical Communication: Requires talking and hearing, and communicating via telephone.
