Substitute Associate/Paraprofessional
The Shenandoah Community School District is seeking substitute associate/paraprofessionals. Ideal candidates will have experience working with students and must have excellent communication skills. Associates substitutes will work one-to-one with a student or with a small group of students under the direction of the classroom or special education teacher. Serve as a guide in instructing students on proper classroom behavior. Help teachers keep records for grading and attendance.
Get materials and equipment ready to help teachers prepare for class. Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students. Supervise students during lunch or recess, as well as in between classes, field trips, or on the bus. Assist students who need additional help learning a specific concept. Candidate must be able to pass a background check (child/dependent adult abuse registry, sex offender registry, criminal history records, and motor vehicle records).
