Preschool Special Education Teacher (Inclusive Preschool)

Red Oak, IA

Red Oak Community School District is seeking a highly qualified Preschool Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive early childhood team. This position serves preschool‑aged students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative, play‑based learning environment focused on ensuring all children have access to high‑quality instruction and support.

Qualifications
  • Valid Iowa teaching license with Birth-Grade 3 Inclusive Settings (#1001) endorsement preferred, or other appropriate early childhood/special education licensure.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of Iowa special education compliance requirements and experience utilizing Achieve.
  • Experience collecting, documenting, and analyzing student progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD®.
  • Strong understanding of child development, early learning standards, and evidence‑based instructional practices.
  • Experience working in an inclusive preschool setting is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff.
  • Strong communication, organization, and data‑based decision‑making skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to preschool students with disabilities within an inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services.
  • Utilize assessment data and GOLD® documentation to guide instruction and monitor student growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
  • Foster positive relationships with students and families while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
