3 Year Old Little Tigers PreK Teacher ) - .5 Time
We are seeking a half‑time Preschool Teacher to work with 3‑year‑old Little Tigers in the Iowa Valley Community School District. The position is based in Marengo, Iowa and offers a dynamic teaching environment with upgraded facilities.

Job DescriptionAs a Preschool Teacher, you will plan and implement age‑appropriate educational activities, create a safe and stimulating learning environment, and foster the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. You will help prepare students for kindergarten by nurturing curiosity, encouraging exploration, and building essential skills through play‑based learning.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development and Implementation: Design and deliver lessons, activities, and experiences that align with early childhood education standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, organized learning environment; manage student behavior and ensure safety and engagement.
- Child Development: Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress; identify potential learning or developmental challenges and provide individualized support.
- Communication and
Collaboration:
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers; participate in parent‑teacher conferences and collaborate with other preschool staff. - Social‑Emotional Development: Model appropriate behavior, foster positive social interactions, and help children develop essential social and emotional skills.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field; preferred relevant experience in a preschool setting.
- Knowledge of Child Development: Understanding of child development principles, learning theories, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Communication and Interpersonal
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication; ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues. - Creativity and Adaptability: Creative, flexible, and adaptable to meet diverse student needs and the dynamic preschool environment.
- Patience and Empathy: Patient, nurturing, and capable of creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
