Overview
:
Provides instruction in industrial technology disciplines including construction, welding, robotics, and woodworking. Teaches safe use of engineering and manufacturing tools. Maintains a safe, organized, and well‑equipped shop lab.

• Plan, organize, and implement an instructional program in a secondary learning environment.
• Provide multiple forms of evidence of student learning and growth.
• Implement strategies supporting student, building, and district goals.
• Use student performance data to guide instruction.
• Create and maintain a classroom culture that supports learning for all students.
• Communicate with students, families, colleagues, and the community effectively.
• Demonstrate competence in content knowledge and instructional strategies appropriate to industrial technology.
• Plan for instruction using student achievement data, local standards, and district curriculum.
• Deliver instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
• Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor student learning.
• Manage the classroom to create a safe and purposeful learning environment.
• Engage in professional growth and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to district policies, board procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• State of Iowa Department of Education license with career and technical education (CTE) and/or work‑based learning endorsements.
• Bachelor's degree in education, industrial technology, engineering, or a relevant field.
• Experience in a similar teaching or instructional role preferred.

• Assess student needs in the classroom.
• Work well with students, teachers, counselors, parents, and others.
• Make independent judgments and decisions within the job description.
• Basic understanding of building systems (security, intercom, telephone, fire and alarm).
• Operate personal computers linked to networks for student data, grading, online IEPs, and email.
• Operate photocopiers, laminators, classroom or lab equipment.
• Human relations skills and good attendance are essential.

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and hand‑held learning devices, shop tools and equipment, office equipment. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
