An individual in this class supports the delivery of instruction at a distance learning facility. The assistant facilitates the interaction between the student and the distant learning instructor. This individual assists in the monitoring of student behavior and class participation, and ensures satisfactory program transmission during instructional hours. The assistant is responsible for the distribution and collection of instructional materials.
Minimum Training and Experience- High School diploma and either 48 semester hours, an associate’s degree, or Work Keys completed plus 2 college courses or 96 contact hours.
- Experience in driving large vehicles and transporting students preferred.
- Monitors work assigned by instructor.
- Monitors student behavior.
- Monitors equipment operation.
- Reports technical difficulties.
- Records courses for replay.
- Distributes and collects instructional materials.
- Monitors and facilitates instruction.
- Keeps records: registration, attendance, facility scheduling, evaluations.
- Operates the assigned school bus on the route(s) and schedule.
- Obeys all traffic laws and school bus regulations.
- Performs post-trip inspection to detect any unboarded or incapacitated students and any irregularities or vandalism.
- Observes all safety regulations and standards for school buses, cleans the bus, and evacuates students quickly in an emergency.
- Maintains discipline of students, establishing a discipline plan consistent with school policies.
- Secures the bus after each run: parks properly, inspects for damage, verifies all passengers have boarded, locks windows and doors.
- Maintains acceptable relationships with parents/guardians and school personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the school principal.

Ability to use classroom equipment, lift and carry lightweight items, and stand/walk for light work. - Data:
