Substitute Associates
Shenandoah Community Shenandoah Elementary School - Shenandoah, Iowa
Job DescriptionThe Shenandoah Community School District is seeking Substitute Associate/Paraprofessionals. Ideal candidates will have experience working with students and must have excellent communication skills.
Associate substitutes will work one-to-one with a student or with a small group of students under the direction of the classroom or special education teacher.
- Serve as a guide in instructing students on proper classroom behavior
- Help teachers keep records for grading and attendance
- Get materials and equipment ready to help teachers prepare for class
- Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students
- Supervise students during lunch or recess, as well as in between classes, field trips, or on the bus.
- Assist students who need additional help learning a specific concept
Candidate must be able to pass a background check (child/dependent adult abuse registry, sex offender registry, criminal history records, and motor vehicle records).
