Job Description

The Associate will assist preschool students, including those with special needs, in academics, self‑help, play skills, language, social development, motor/physical assistance, peer interactions, recess, bus, feeding, toileting, etc. The daily schedule will be designed by the building principal. Approximate weekly hours are 20–35.

Wage: $16.25 hourly (90‑day probationary period). Work week aligns with preschool student school days. If school is dismissed early, staff clock out and are not paid.

JOB GOAL

Assist preschool students and those with special needs in implementing IEP strategies, behavior programs, data collection, and class learning. Support classroom instruction, hygiene, mobility, safety, and behavior.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administer, score, and record achievement and diagnostic tests as recommended.

Supervise students on the playground, lunchroom, and bus line.

Perform clerical duties including typing and filing.

Supervise pre‑ and after‑school programs.

Participate in in‑service training as assigned.

Help students master equipment or instructional materials.

Alert the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Maintain high ethical behavior and confidentiality as expected of licensed teachers.

Operate and care for classroom instructional equipment.

Know emergency procedures for the building and classroom.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
