Education Program Consultant; Continuous Improvement - Keystone

The Education Program Consultant (Continuous Improvement - Keystone) role at the Iowa Department of Education supports schools and districts across Northeast Iowa in strengthening special education systems and improving student outcomes. The consultant provides professional learning, technical assistance, and implementation support to educators, helping schools adopt evidence-based practices for students with disabilities and move toward inclusive, student-centered learning environments. The position requires leading statewide improvement initiatives, ensuring IDEA compliance, and collaborating with educators, administrators, and families across the region.

• Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college/university plus five years post-graduate work experience in education, administration, personnel administration, finance/accounting, or related tech
• Master's degree with valid Iowa Teaching Certificate and three years teaching/administrative experience in PK-12 or post-secondary education
• Passion for public service and improving outcomes for students with disabilities
• Strong leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills with ability to work in complex environments
• Commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based instructional practices
