A vacancy exists for a Special Education Teacher- TEACH ABA within the Division of Student Services of the CCIU. This position will be located at the Child & Career Development Center

The Special Education Teacher- TEACH ABA will provide specially designed instruction and support to middle students in a clinical treatment program. TEACH ABA Middle School is a clinical treatment program classroom that is designed to serve students with co-occurring Autism and mental health needs. The classroom is supported by a full-time licensed mental health clinician, a BCBA, and a child psychiatrist.
The teacher works collaboratively with these professionals to create a small, structured, therapeutic environment where students can make progress toward academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) addressing the specific needs of students; complete Re-Evaluation Reports (RR) as needed for student programming.
- Use principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive replacement behaviors and extinguish negative behaviors as developed in students' IEPs.
- Assist staff with de-escalation techniques, management strategies, and the implementation of positive behavior support plans (PBSP).
- Responsible for designing and implementing a verbal-behavior model of instruction for students in an autistic support classroom.
- Work collaboratively with behavior professionals, speech and language therapists, occupational therapist, physical therapists and other related service providers to target all areas of students' needs.
- Administer assessments like the VB-MAPP, assist with assessments like Functional Behavioral Assessments and SETT evaluations, develop individualized programming based on daily data, and maintain daily records to support verbal-behavior teaching methods.
- Prepare classroom observation records, instructional data, progress reports, report cards, and other educational documents.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (required)
- Master's Degree (strongly preferred)
- Experience working with Special Education Autistic Support (required)
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) (required)
- PDE Special Education Certification PK-12 or PK-8 (required)
- Special Education PK-12 certification (preferred)
7.5 hours a day; 190 days per year (194 year one; 191 year two)
Salary (2026 - 2027 School-Year)Instructional I: $62,155 - $89,730/yr.
Instructional II: $64,834 - $93,324/yr.
Master's Degree: $69,353 - $101,911/yr.
Master's + 15: $72,740 - $105,924/yr.
Master's + 30: $74,415 - $107,845/yr.
* Placement on salary scale is commensurate with years of experience in a relevant role*
