Job DescriptionThe Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking aligned to district curriculum and Iowa Core standards. Instruction includes literature, composition, grammar, and communication skills that prepare students for postsecondary success.
The teacher creates a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment where all students are supported and challenged. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons using evidence-based instructional strategies, assessing student learning, providing meaningful feedback, and using data to guide instruction.
The position also includes collaboration with colleagues through integration of instructional technology, and active participation in district initiatives and school improvement efforts.
