Location: Percival

Chance Light Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Para educator to support students with behavioral and learning challenges in a specialized school setting. In this role, you'll work alongside teachers and clinical staff to implement behavior plans, reinforce IEP goals, and provide individualized academic and social support. Responsibilities include classroom assistance, data collection, de-escalation support, and maintaining a safe, structured environment.

You'll join a compassionate, mission-driven team dedicated to improving students' academic, social, and life outcomes while gaining hands-on experience in behavioral health and special education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct classroom and small-group support to students with behavioral and learning challenges.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and reinforcement strategies under clinical and teacher guidance.
  • Collect and record behavioral and academic data to support progress monitoring.
  • Support IEP goals by reinforcing academic, social, and daily living skills.
  • Assist with de-escalation, crisis prevention, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and clinical staff to align strategies and student supports.
  • Communicate observations on student progress and concerns to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Support transitions, supervision, and routines throughout the school day.
  • Model positive social, communication, and coping skills for students.
  • Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development.
