Teaching Assistant

Chance Light Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Teaching Assistant to support students with behavioral and learning challenges in a therapeutic school setting. In this role, you will assist teachers and clinicians with instruction, behavior plans, and daily routines, providing one-on-one and small-group support. You'll help implement individualized education and behavior strategies, monitor and document progress, and contribute to a safe, structured, and compassionate classroom.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom instruction and activities for students with behavioral and learning challenges
• Implement individualized behavior and education plans under supervision of licensed staff
• Monitor and document student behavior, progress, and participation
• Provide one-on-one and small-group support during academic, social, and life skills activities
• Assist with classroom organization, materials, and a safe, structured learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to reinforce goals and interventions
• Help de-escalate challenging behaviors using trained strategies
• Support student transitions, arrivals, departures, and breaks throughout the day
