Maintenance Technician (Primary Skill Set: Electrical/Instrumentation)

Supports the efficient and cost-effective production of electric energy by performing any power plant maintenance tasks and operational duties which they have been trained to perform. May be required to direct, assist and work with internal and external personnel and resources to ensure the efficient operations and repair of plant equipment. May be required to direct daily operating work assignments and assist in the development of schedules, planning functions, project activities, job related reports and other administrative duties.

Employees will perform any and all tasks for which they are properly trained and can competently and safely perform.

Minimum qualifications for this position include four years of related mechanical or electrical/instrument/controls experience within industrial process, electric utility, mining, propulsion, chemical, heavy construction and one or more of the following: associate of science degree in a technical field from an accredited institution, relevant military experience, ISA CCST certification, ISA CIMM or CMRT documentation, documented journeyman accreditation, or a combination of relevant experience, skills, and education.

Will be required to achieve additional operator and maintenance qualifications in accordance with training standards. Candidates will be required to pass an oral or written examination or performance test covering the above qualifications. Maintenance Technicians are considered “shift employees,” as defined by Title 6.13, and may be assigned to the scheduled hours and workdays of the group to which they are assigned, subject to Title 17.

When Maintenance Technician personnel are not specifically assigned to maintenance duties, they may be temporarily assigned to other duties at the generating facilities of the Generating Plant Operations and Generating Plant Services occupational groups. When assigned to report to their regular generating facility, they may be reassigned to perform duties in any occupational group established in that facility in which they are qualified and trained.
