The Opportunity Our US Gas Operations Upland Prairie team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in eastern Iowa and western Illinois to support the operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout Eldridge, La Moille and the surrounding area.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline, to include electrically driven gas compressors.

This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.

What you’ll do Troubleshoot, operate and maintain electrically driven gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment

Operate electrically driven gas compressors and support equipment

Maintain and repair pipeline

Operate and maintain valves and operators

Inspect, repair and set regulators and relief valves

Blow down, purge and pressurize pipelines and/or stations

Perform line locates on company pipelines and/or utility line patrols and associated ROW maintenance

Plan, coordinate and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements and major maintenance projects

Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPOther tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent

Relevant oil and gas industry experience

At least 3 years of mechanical experience

Preferred Qualifications Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrically driven gas compressors

Knowledge of electric motors, variable frequency drives, centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generators

Knowledge and experience in cathodic protection systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Ability to conduct surveys and inspections to assess the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems

Proficiency in using equipment and tools related to cathodic protection, such as voltmeters, reference electrodes, and data loggers

Understanding of industry standards and regulations related to cathodic protection

Capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications related to cathodic protection systems

Experience in preparing reports and documentation for cathodic protection activities

This position requires candidates to Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing

Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks for emergency response purposes

Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home

Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions
