We are partnered with a nationally recognised engineering and consulting firm looking to bring in a senior leader to build and grow their Land Development presence in the Akron market. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys operating at both a strategic and technical level, with the opportunity to shape a regional practice, build client relationships, and lead a team from the front.

The position sits within a well-established platform that offers strong project pipelines, cross-discipline collaboration, and the backing needed to scale a business.

This organisation is one of the leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancies in the United States, supporting both private and public sector clients across a wide range of development and infrastructure projects. Their land development teams work closely with developers, owners, and investors to take projects from early due diligence through to construction, covering feasibility, entitlements, design, and permitting. This role is designed for someone looking to step into a true Discipline Builder type role, where success is defined by both project delivery and long-term business growth. You will have the autonomy to shape the direction of the land development team locally, while working within a collaborative, well-supported environment.

• Lead and grow a Land Development practice focused on private sector clients
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, and key stakeholders
• Drive business development activities, including proposals and new project pursuits
• Oversee site civil projects from concept through construction
• Provide technical leadership across grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
• Manage project performance, resourcing, and profitability
• Collaborate with internal disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions

• 10+ years experience in land development / site civil engineering
• Proven experience delivering private sector development projects (residential, commercial, industrial)
• Strong client-facing and business development capability
• Experience leading teams or building out groups
• Solid understanding of site design, permitting, and project delivery
• Proficiency with Civil3D / similar design tools
• Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred
