GFT is seeking a Senior Track Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Audubon, PA. This role follows a remote or hybrid work model depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The Transportation team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Projects include railways, facilities, or yards, with an emphasis on resilient, sustainable design and construction.
What you’ll be challenged to do:We are currently seeking a Senior Track Engineer within our Transit and Freight Rail Sectors. The candidate will work with multi‑discipline teams on wide‑ranging transit and rail projects and assist in maintaining existing client relationships. The successful candidate will have a diverse background with extensive experience in transit and freight rail design and be an integral part of a project team committed to providing high‑quality designs.
Inthis capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Serve as lead Track Engineer on projects.
- Ensure that projects are completed within the allocated time and budget.
- Provide team leadership and technical expertise.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the work of junior engineers and technicians serving as project support staff.
- Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies such as AREMA.
- Serve as a technical specialist for the organization for an assigned area of responsibility.
- Perform independent reviews of major projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (field required)
- 15+ years of progressive experience in the design of major transit/freight rail engineering transportation projects
- Strong communications skills
- Strong experience working with transit agencies and/or Class 1 Railroads
- Ability to lead civil/track aspects on multiple assignments
- Strong experience in the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, construction phasing, and construction schedules
- Extensive working knowledge of Open Rail Designer and Civil3D platforms
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and various engineering and scheduling software
- Professional Engineer license required
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members
The salary range for this position is $160,000‑$200,000, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
