position: junior automation engineer

Reports to:

industrial automation engineering manager Employment status: full‑time – exempt Primary position objective: design and implementation of automation projects to meet company goals, customer specifications, and industry requirements. This position is responsible for the technical execution of assigned projects and will assist with the development of schedules, budgets, and timelines.

• research, develop and implement automation solutions to achieve cost savings and process improvement strategies.
• define project scope, budgetary requirements, and develop project plans to ensure timely completion of projects.
• collaborate with cross‑functional teams within the organization and build strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers to develop successful solutions.
• work with existing solutions to troubleshoot problems and determine if upgrades are necessary.
• design and provide appropriate training for automation solutions to production management and team.
• understand manufacturing processes and participate in production meetings to provide technical knowledge and solutions to potential continuous improvement or corrective action projects.
• inspect electronic systems, instruments, and equipment to ensure they meet applicable regulations and safety standards.
• effectively manage and complete multiple projects to meet individual, departmental, and company goals.

• associate’s degree in mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering, industrial technology, or two to five years of relevant experience with automation or plc programming.
• self‑motivated and efficient with time management to ensure timelines and deadlines are met.
• proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• strong knowledge of computer operating systems.
