Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer located at Warner Robins AFB, GA.
Required Qualifications / Skills- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 2‑4 years of experience, or a Master’s Degree with 0‑2 years of experience.
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
- Provide guidance and expertise in mechanical engineering to design complex mechanical equipment and systems, and investigate, evaluate, and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems.
- Determine theoretical principles involved and apply advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques.
- Analyze assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete.
- Prepare schedules for accomplishing tasks within estimates.
- Supervise and coordinate technicians in fabrication and installation of complex mechanical and related electronic equipment and systems.
- Direct field operation and maintenance activities of mechanical equipment/systems installations.
- Evaluate operational systems and design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.
- Develop new applications requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity, and complex test procedures for equipment and systems that are significantly different from existing designs.
- Plan, organize, and conduct the development of each assignment; coordinate manpower and activities of groups involved in various stages of the overall program to ensure effective integration.
- Provide technical guidance to personnel involved with producing design fabrication drawings.
- Review and correct drawings to ensure proper engineering techniques and required specifications have been utilized.
- Develop, release, and maintain documentation in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Review, write, and edit reports such as evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, etc. to provide recommendations, conclusions, and other data.
