Location: Nevada

Seeking a Principal Environmental Advisor to lead environmental strategy, permitting, and regulatory compliance for a major copper development project.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving environmental performance through the project's feasibility, permitting, and development phases, ensuring compliance while supporting safe and sustainable mine construction and operations.

What you'll do
  • Lead all environmental permitting activities, including state and federal permit applications, amendments, and compliance
  • Manage environmental baseline programs, including groundwater, stormwater, biological, cultural, revegetation, and meteorological monitoring
  • Coordinate planning and execution of the NEPA process, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Mine Plan of Operations
  • Develop and oversee environmental management systems, policies, procedures, and compliance reporting
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and environmental technicians delivering field and office-based environmental programs
  • Support engineering and operations teams by reviewing designs, construction packages, and technical documentation from an environmental perspective
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, Tribal entities, and other stakeholders throughout project development
  • Lead development and implementation of key environmental management plans including SWPPP, SPCC, Site Water Management Plans, and Emergency Response Plans
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations while promoting a strong safety culture
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • 7+ years of environmental permitting or site environmental management experience within the mining industry
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal mining permits, environmental compliance, and the NEPA process
  • Experience with groundwater monitoring, waste management, geochemical processes, and environmental baseline studies
  • Proven ability to manage consultants, contractors, budgets, and multidisciplinary environmental programs
  • Excellent technical writing, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale mining developments or greenfield projects is highly desirable
