ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive to this position.) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a team member with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Provide prompt, courteous, accurate and overall exceptional service to guests.
  • Accept bets and write tickets for all sporting events from guests in a professional and courteous manner, utilizing a sports computer system.
  • Receive sport tickets from guests and pay guests with present winning tickets and vouchers utilizing a sports computer system.
  • Maintain and balance a till for use in issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers, including following void procedures and cash handling procedures.
  • Process and maintain accurate transaction and reconciliations.
  • Must know all terms and conditions pertaining to sports wagering.
  • Must be fully aware of all lines and odds in the new Sports book.
  • Accurately and thoroughly complete all requisite Company, Federal, State, Tax and/or gaming regulation records and forms.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information obtained because of normal working procedures.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established Company, departmental, and regulatory policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Must possess good math skills.
  • Prior cash handling experience referred.
  • Ability to operate the Sports book tracking system and Title 31 software system are preferred.
  • Strong background and in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry and betting process preferred.
  • Six (6) months of prior experience in race and sports wagering preferred.
  • Able to obtain regulatory credentials from the Iowa Gaming Board.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed.
APPEARANCE AND GROOMING

All team members are required to comply with all appearance and grooming standards outlined in the Queen Casino & Entertainment Inc. General Rules, Procedures and Policy Handbook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Hospitality industry is a 24 Hour 365-day operation.
  • Primarily be indoors under controlled temperatures.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor climates.
  • Occasional:
    Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent:
    Sitting, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, repetitive movement of fingers, legs, arms, and hands.
