Position Summary

To ensure Blackbird Bend Casino complies with the rules and regulations of the Omaha Tribal Gaming Authority and ensures that Blackbird Bend Casino’s money, property and assets are protected through constant observation of all casino areas. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of Blackbird Bend Casino policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operate a closed circuit television system to monitor gaming, money-handling activity and procedure compliance;

Records any irregular gaming activity through accurate, detailed reports;

Operates all surveillance equipment including, but not limited to, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, & cameras as assigned;

Provides written and oral court testimony;

Maintain a proficient knowledge of all policies and procedures;

Become familiar with current list of undesirables and cheats maintained by the Surveillance;

Prepare Daily Activity reports, Incidents Reports and Surveillance Special Reports as required;

Safeguard all confidential information and maintain department confidentiality;

Report any personal circumstances that may pose a conflict of interest or hamper creditability of the Surveillance dept.;

Conduct self always in a manner that reflects credit on Blackbird Bend Casino and encourage others to do the same;

Assist the Surveillance Supervisor in completing audits and risk assessments of outlet stock movements and sales and any other areas as needed;

Undertake reviews and complete reports of injury cases reported by the Security Officer;

Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff;

Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies;

Attends all necessary training meetings;

Assist in other projects, as directed;

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment;

High school diploma or its equivalency required; GED

Have a minimum of one year experience working in a casino surveillance room or one year equivalent working in a surveillance environment;

Be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and Certifications

Possess knowledge of games and casino rules, procedures and administration;

Possess knowledge of Tribal State Gaming Compact rules and approved system of Internal Controls;

Possess knowledge of the methods of cheating games, and other related activities;

Possess knowledge of operating camera equipment and those methods of operations and recording as required;

Possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;

Be able to deal effectively and interact well with co-workers and guests;

Be able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner;

Be able to respond to visual and oral cues;

Be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required;

Must maintain a professional appearance and be a team player;

Have previous customer service experience.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino;

Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust;

Able to sit or stand for long hours observing numerable Closed Circuit Television screens;

Able to observe and recall specific details of incidents and persons;

Manual dexterity to operate, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, and cameras;

Excellent vision including peripheral, and be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items when necessary;

Read, Write, speak, and understand English;

Operate in Mentally and physically stressful situations.
