What you’ll do as a Controller:

  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the financial integrity of the Bethany Life continuum
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, supporting financial reporting, coordinating the annual independent audit, and ensuring strong internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Plays a key role in safeguarding organizational assets
  • Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including financial data entry, account reconciliation, balancing, and verification of accuracy across financial systems

What’s required as Controller:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience coordinating or supporting annual audits required
  • Demonstrated ability to design and enforce internal controls
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrates professional behavior at all times, including maintaining a positive attitude, respecting confidentiality, interacting respectfully with members, families, colleagues, and community partners, and representing Bethany Life in a professional manner
  • CPR Certified or obtained within six (6) months of hire.
