Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Compliance
Responsibilities
Oversee PJM’s enterprise risk management operations, coordinating with senior leadership and the Risk and Audit Committee to identify, monitor, and mitigate strategic, operational, financial, market, regulatory, cyber, and reputational risks. Provide independent oversight of market and credit risk, collateral management, underwriting, trade risk analytics, model validation, KYC, and quantitative risk analytics.
Develop governance frameworks and risk controls, defining measurement methodologies and internal process changes. Coordinate risk reporting, including automated risk dashboards, and maintain clear communication with the CEO, CFO, General Counsel, Board, and external stakeholders.
Lead the Risk Management Committee, reviewing credit and collateral requirements and ensuring timely communication of material risks to senior leadership. Provide oversight of quantitative scenario testing, automated risk reporting, and enterprise risk coordination across all PJM functions.
Establish risk appetite, tolerance levels, and key risk indicators in partnership with executives, providing risk‑based recommendations and insights for regulatory filings and market rule changes. Ensure compliance with audits, policy, and regulatory standards, and support staff risk awareness training.
Perform thorough assessments of current credit, model validation, and enterprise risk management functions, recommending organizational and technology changes to improve effectiveness.
All other duties as assigned or requested by the CEO.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in risk management leadership, including managerial/supervisory roles.
- Extensive credit and financial risk management skills and analytical experience with market risk and regulatory oversight.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and influencing skills, with demonstrated collaboration across divisions.
Preferred:
- MBA or advanced business degree.
- Experience with PJM agreements, tariffs, and operations in a large competitive wholesale electricity market.
- Prior participation in PJM committees or similar regulatory bodies.
