Portfolio Manager Funds of Funds (m/w/d)

To strengthen our Funds of Funds team in Cologne, we are looking for you starting in October 2026.
The JobFonds analysis and manager research
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of investment funds across various liquid asset classes
- Preparing, conducting, and documenting due diligence discussions with portfolio managers and asset managers
- Creating and updating investment and due diligence reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Identifying and evaluating new investment ideas and deriving action recommendations for portfolio construction
- Ongoing monitoring of target funds in terms of performance, risk metrics, investment process, and team stability
- Regular exchange with fund providers and asset managers on market and strategy developments
- Creating and presenting fund analyses as part of internal fund selection committees and investment committees
- Maintaining and developing the investable fund list (Buy List / Investible Funds List)
Dachfonds-portfolio management (fund of funds)
- Participating in the management and development of fund-of-funds portfolios, taking into account legal requirements as well as internal and external investment guidelines
- Preparing for and actively participating in investment and investment committees
- Developing, analyzing, and presenting investment proposals and their implementation
- Ongoing monitoring of portfolios and the target funds contained therein
- Implementing strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions
- Identifying optimization potentials in terms of risk/return profile, diversification, and cost structure
Sales and customer support
- Creating fund- and market-specific reports, presentations, and customer documents
- Preparing complex investment topics for sales partners and customers
- Presenting investment topics and capital market assessments to internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting sales in customer events, roadshows, and specialist lectures
- Answering investment-related customer inquiries
Product development and interface management
- Developing new investment and product ideas together with sales, product management, and other departments
- Contributing to the further development of existing investment processes and risk management approaches
- Close cooperation with risk management, compliance, pension schemes, asset managers, and other internal and external service providers
- Coordinating and synchronizing operational issues related to target fund investments and umbrella fund structures
- Contributing to the introduction and implementation of regulatory requirements, particularly in the area of sustainability and investment fund regulation (e.g., SFDR)
Professional qualifications
- Successfully completed degree in economics, finance, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in fund analysis and manager research as well as initial experience in portfolio management, fund selection, or the fund-of-funds environment
- Good knowledge of the regulatory environment of investment funds
- CFA-, CAIA-, CESGA-, or comparable capital market-oriented additional qualifications are an advantage
Professional competencies
- Secure handling of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Very good analytical and conceptual thinking
- Experience with data and research platforms (e.g., Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg)
- Good knowledge of the European fund landscape and various asset classes (e.g., mixed funds, global equity or bond funds)
- Understanding of fund selection, due diligence processes, and portfolio construction
- Interest in sustainable investment strategies and ESG-related regulatory requirements
- Very good German and English skills in writing and speaking
