Lending Assistant

Iowa State Bank, a locally owned community bank in Le Mars, IA, is seeking a detail-oriented Lending Assistant to support our consumer, commercial, and agricultural lending teams. In this role, you will prepare and process loan documentation, verify financial information, track collateral, and maintain accurate loan files in compliance with bank policies and regulations. You'll interact directly with customers, respond to inquiries, and deliver prompt, friendly service.

Responsibilities

• Support lenders with loan documentation, processing, and file maintenance for consumer, commercial, and ag loans
• Collect, verify, and input customer financial information and ensure accuracy in core banking systems
• Prepare loan packets, disclosures, and closing documents in compliance with bank policies and regulations
• Monitor pending and booked loans, follow up on missing items, and track collateral and insurance documentation
• Respond to customer inquiries, provide account information, and deliver excellent frontline service
• Coordinate with loan officers, credit, and operations teams to ensure timely, accurate loan closings
• Assist with report generation, data entry, and record retention for audits and regulatory reviews
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail in all lending activities
