Location: Estherville
This is a part-time position (27.5 hours/week) located on the Emmetsburg Campus. Under limited direction, the Simulation Technician is responsible for the overall usage, maintenance, and upkeep of the medical, simulation, and audio/visual equipment for the Simulation Center. Will work with the Associate Dean of Nursing in providing technical support for simulation activities, labs, and exercises. Will facilitate simulation and use of simulators by ensuring the software updates are completed, audio/camera equipment is functional as needed so simulations can run seamlessly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF THE TIME):
Constant (67-100%)
* Order and maintain all equipment and supplies relating to audio/visual and simulation equipment.
* Ensure simulators, computers, and audio/visual equipment is ready and in working order for Simulation Center faculty.
* Oversee equipment setup and breakdown including simulators, audio/visual technology, and supplies.
* Prepare documents and scenario supplies prior to each healthcare simulation experience.
* Set up, operate, and troubleshoot simulators and medical equipment (IV pumps).
Frequent (34-66%)
* Maintenance and repair of audio/visual equipment, medical equipment, manikins, and simulation equipment.
* Prepare and apply moulage to standardized patients and simulators.
* Restock rooms and clean simulation equipment after each scenario session.
* Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed during simulation sessions.
* Ensure that simulator software updates are programmed each semester.
* Work collaboratively with faculty and staff from Nursing and Allied Health education programs to ensure all equipment and manikins are in working order prior to simulation.
* Assist Associate Dean of Nursing with developing and implementing simulation scenarios, technology, and solutions for healthcare partners.
* Manage medication inventory within the Pyxis machine to match simulation scenarios.
* Assist in orientation of students, faculty, and staff to the Simulation Center.
Occasional (10-33%)
* Attend departmental meetings when requested.
* Assist with tours and demonstrations in the Simulation Center.
* Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Represent the college in a positive, professional manner with all colleagues and staff.
* Knowledge of current simulation hardware and software.
* Knowledge of current practices and other related health areas required.

* Possess a working knowledge of personal computers and educational media equipment.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Position involves sitting most of the time in an office setting. Standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping occasionally (10-33%). Reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work frequently (34-66%). Sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking, hearing constantly (67-100%).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in technology preferred. Demonstrated experience with computer applications and ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues preferred.
Salary: $22.25 per hour
