Job Summary
Under the general guidance of the Director of Risk and Compliance, the Supervisor, Environmental and Laundry Services, will be responsible for duties in both the Laundry and Housekeeping Departments, based on the needs of the departments. This is a supervisory position overseeing two departments, Environmental and Laundry/Linen Services. This position will supervise and schedule all direct reports of the departments.

Requirements Knowledge of:- Principles and practices of environmental services and healthcare laundry operations in a hospital or long-term care setting
- Infection prevention and control principles as they relate to contact precautions, environmental cleanliness, linen processing, and the prevention of cross-contamination, including proper handling of soiled linens, waste, and biohazard materials.
- Proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) and hazardous communication requirements
- Regulatory and safety requirements applicable to healthcare support services, including HIPAA, OSHA, and facility safety policies
- Basic equipment operation, preventive maintenance concepts, and troubleshooting related to housekeeping and laundry equipment
- Inventory management practices, par-level controls, and basic cost-containment principles
- Customer service expectations in a healthcare environment, including patient/resident dignity and confidentiality and the role of Environmental Services and Laundry in supporting resident/patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance
- Basic awareness of CMS Conditions of Participation and/or Nursing Home Requirements as they apply to environmental sanitation and support services
- Supervise, train, and coordinate staff in Environmental Services and Laundry operations
- Assign and prioritize daily workloads to ensure timely completion of cleaning, laundry, and linen distribution functions
- Effectively communicate expectations, procedures, and corrective feedback to staff in a clear and respectful manner
- Accurately complete and review schedules, logs, checklists, timecards, and related documentation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and participate in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives
- Maintain organized workflows in fast-paced or changing environments, including during staffing shortages or urgent service needs
- Apply safe body mechanics and promote safe work practices among staff
- Work independently while exercising sound judgment and accountability for departmental outcomes
- Lead by example through hands-on participation in EVS and Laundry duties when operational needs require
- Maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to bodily fluids, infectious materials, odors, and physically demanding tasks
- Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and facility needs while maintaining service quality and compliance
