Duties Description

As a Dietitian 2 you will be part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and will assist in the food and nutrition program operations including:

• Developing, planning, and approving diets and menus.
• Consulting with healthcare providers on individual diet therapy programs to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Identifying and recommending activities to improve and maintain individuals' nutritional health.
• Providing nutritional care instructions and information to individuals.

Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a RD. OR Candidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

These positions are eligible for a Mid-Hudson adjustment of $2,000.
