CCO PRN 2nd and 3rd Shift

Virginia Gay Hospital, established in Vinton in 1923, is an independent, nonprofit critical access hospital supported by a strong local community. The organization includes a 25-bed hospital and four family medical clinics located throughout Benton County, Iowa, offering high-quality, local healthcare and opportunities for professional growth and meaningful patient relationships.

• Primary responsibility is for duties related to Hospital Registration.
• Register patients for ancillary and emergency room services with efficiency and accuracy. Verify demographic and insurance information with each patient to ensure billing details are correct.
• Ensure each consent form is signed with each registration and appropriate policies (Financial Assistance, HIPAA) are offered at time of registration.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and other members of the team.
• Answer the main phone switchboard and transfer calls as appropriate.
• Review and submit Presumptive Eligibility (PE) applications through the MPEP portal. Work with the patient if any additional information is required and notify patient of determination. Maintain annual certification requirements as an MPEP user.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Previous insurance experience preferred.
