Location: Ladora
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care within a regional oncology clinic in the Midwest. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence‑based use of anti‑cancer medications and supportive therapies. The Oncology Pharmacist will collaborate closely with oncologists, patients, and healthcare teams to optimize treatment outcomes.
Clinical Pharmacy Practice- Conduct clinical reviews to optimize oncology drug therapy through recommendations, monitoring, and adjustments tailored to individual patient needs.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to implement safe and timely treatment plans.
- Educate patients and caregivers on chemotherapy regimens, supportive care, and discharge medications.
- Deliver training and in‑service programs for healthcare staff.
- Provide clinical consultation and education on oncology pharmacotherapy to providers and nursing staff.
- Monitor patient responses to chemotherapy, assess adverse effects, and recommend therapy modifications.
- Participate in tumor boards and oncology case discussions.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and clinical interventions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA, ASHP, and JCAHO.
- Contribute to formulary management and protocol development for oncology treatments.
- Support research and clinical trials involving investigational oncology agents.
- Mentor pharmacy students through project oversight and evaluation.
- Engage in scholarly activities including literature review and data analysis.
- Maintain proficiency to staff inpatient pharmacy shifts including on‑call, weekends, and holidays.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Meet physical demands of the role with or without accommodation.
- Maintain reliable attendance and participate in meetings as required.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
- Current licensed pharmacist registration with the appropriate state board.
- Certification in Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Minimum 2–3 years of oncology pharmacy experience.
- Completion of PGY‑1 residency with oncology experience preferred; PGY‑2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency and Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), computerized physician order entry (CPOE), and oncology‑specific systems such as Beacon or Epic.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and interact compassionately with patients.
- Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
