Job Summary
Conducts Color Flow Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms, and assists the Cardiologist in Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Conducts other Non-Invasive procedures such as EKG, EEGs.
Essential Functions- Conducts color flow Doppler Echos following established protocols.
- Conducts Stress Echos according to established protocols.
- Assists Cardiologist in the TEE procedure.
- Submits echocardiograms at the highest quality possible within the appropriate time span.
- Identifies and conducts Echos without delegation.
- Identifies and conducts other Non-Invasive testing without delegation (e.g., EKG, Holter).
- Recognizes and reports equipment malfunction.
- Maintains safety standards at all times and follows infection control guidelines.
- Performs neat, accurate, and thorough clerical tasks which include making appointments, entering daily charges into computer and log book.
- Participates in the performance improvement program.
- Demonstrates the ability to work and communicate with all members of the hospital team.
- Recognizes abnormal echo findings and communicates any life threatening situation to the appropriate personnel.
- Is able to interact with neonates through the geriatric population.
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree required.
- Certificate required.
- 1–3 years of experience, with at least two years conducting echocardiograms.
- Flexible, organized, able to set priorities and perform multiple duties in a high volume area.
- Retains composure under stress and has strong attention to detail.
- ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification required.
- Registered Cardiac Ultrasound Tech certification required.
- CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification required.
