WhatYou'll Do
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will:
- Decontaminate, inspect, clean, assemble, package, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor sterilization and decontamination equipment, including biological and chemical testing, to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Inspect instrument sets for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before distribution.
- Prepare and deliver sterile supplies and equipment to support surgical and clinical departments in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory by stocking, labeling, organizing, and replenishing sterile supplies and equipment.
- Identify malfunctioning equipment, coordinate repairs or replacements, and remove defective items from service.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention, regulatory, and hospital policies.
- Protect the confidentiality of all patient, employee, and organizational information.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Sterile Processing certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
. - Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Previous experience in sterile processing, surgical services, or a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization methods, and infection prevention practices.
