In this essential role, you will ensure surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for patient care. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will:

• Decontaminate, inspect, clean, assemble, package, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Operate and monitor sterilization and decontamination equipment, including biological and chemical testing, to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Inspect instrument sets for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before distribution.
• Prepare and deliver sterile supplies and equipment to support surgical and clinical departments in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory by stocking, labeling, organizing, and replenishing sterile supplies and equipment.
• Identify malfunctioning equipment, coordinate repairs or replacements, and remove defective items from service.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention, regulatory, and hospital policies.
• Protect the confidentiality of all patient, employee, and organizational information.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Sterile Processing certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Previous experience in sterile processing, surgical services, or a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization methods, and infection prevention practices.
