Responsibilities
  • Assists nursing with delivering high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care while in the Emergency Department.
  • Provide high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills with established protocols while in the ambulance setting.
  • Triage patients presenting to the Emergency Department and/or with EMS services.
  • Utilize an age-appropriate, holistic approach for the patients and families seeking emergency services.
  • Assist/float to other areas to assist with clinical and non-clinical functions as needed and/or as assigned.
  • Accurately and promptly restock ambulance and patient rooms after every call.
  • Promptly complete documentation to ensure an accurate legal document, including medication administration in both the ambulance and ED setting.
Clinical Excellence/Quality
  • Maintain documentation accuracy and timeliness.
Basic Clarke County Hospital (CCH) Performance Criteria
  • Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors and adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains regular, reliable attendance and meets business needs of the department.
  • Maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Applies HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA, EMTALA, IDPH and other federal/state regulatory guidelines.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Understands hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse; raises questions or concerns to hospital administration; takes appropriate action on compliance concerns.
