Job Summary The Nursing Technician performs patient care and non-patient care functions within their scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Duties include but are not limited to ADL's, vital signs, I&O, performing EKGs, documentation of vital signs and I&O, simple dressing changes, specimen collection, assisting with meals, errands, transporting of patients, medications, or specimens, ambulating of patients, urinary drainage care (indwelling, external and suprapubic), assists with colostomy care, applies binders, weighs patients, assists health care providers with procedures and physical exams, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions- High School Required or GED Required
- Previous experience in hospital or with patient care preferred
- Successful completion of the Nursing Technician Orientation
- Excellent Communication Skills (written & verbal)

- BLS - American Heart Association within 180 Days Required
- Nursing Technicians that will be trained to read the monitors require the 4-day EKG class
- Nursing Technicians in the Emergency Department must complete de-escalation training within 1 year of hire or transfer to the Emergency Room.
