Travel Physical Therapist (PT)

Location:

Facility in Bondurant, Iowa.

Employment Type:

Travel assignment for 13 weeks (40 hours per week, 8‑hour days).

This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments in a travel setting. You will develop personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans, utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

• Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs.
• Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
• Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
• Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
• Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management strategies.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
• Assist in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions to community or home settings.
• Perform any additional duties within scope of practice.

• Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC).

• Doctorate degree in physical therapy.
• Experience in physical therapy; new graduates welcome.
• Additional certifications or licenses as relevant to the position.

• Critical thinking and strong interpersonal communication.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
• PC literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical abilities: stationary work, moving about, moving equipment (50‑100 lbs), pushing, pulling, bending.
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain a professional attitude.
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assistance with procedures, use of department equipment.
• Mental requirements: cope with public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently when needed.
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication.
