AHP Certified Medical Billing Specialist

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region, where your expertise in medical billing will directly support home health and hospice patient care. This role focuses on generating revenue by accurately submitting claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and other payers. You will ensure timely reimbursements by monitoring accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, submitting necessary filings, appealing denials, and following up on unpaid claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage billing processes in compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and Medicare regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to home health and hospice-specific billing requirements and payer contracts.
  • Communicate professionally with payers, clinical teams, patients, and families to resolve billing issues.
  • Provide billing, reporting, and administrative support to the business office and leadership as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of medical billing experience is required, with a strong preference for combined home health and hospice billing knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Medicare regulations and billing practices specific to home health and hospice care.
  • Working knowledge of OASIS, hospice elections, certifications/recertifications, and CMS billing timelines is preferred.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), billing systems, Excel, and email communication.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
