Make a Difference with Youth Who Need Someone in Their CornerYSS is seeking an Outpatient Addictions Coordinator to lead our substance use treatment services at the State Training School (STS) in Eldora.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced addictions professional who enjoys both working directly with youth and leading a team. You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of YSS’s outpatient addictions program at STS, supervise addictions counselors, collaborate closely with State Training School staff, and provide direct counseling and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.

Your work will help young people strengthen their recovery skills, make healthier choices, and prepare for continued success when they return to their communities.

What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:

Lead the day-to-day operations of YSS’s outpatient substance use treatment program vide supervision, consultation, training, and support to Outpatient Addictions Counselors.

Provide individual and intensive outpatient group counseling, skill development, and crisis intervention.

Complete assessments and develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Monitor client progress and provide regular updates to appropriate STS staff.

Ensure clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable standards.

Coordinate admissions into substance use programming and help connect youth with aftercare and continuing-care resources prior to discharge.

Complete required monthly and quarterly program reporting.

Partner closely with YSS and State Training School staff and leadership to ensure services meet program and contractual expectations.

Create an environment of respect, cooperation, confidentiality, accountability, and trust for both clients and staff.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.

Current Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential through the Iowa Board of Certification.

Five years of experience in the addictions field.

Three years of supervisory experience.

Experience working with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system is preferred.
