Ready to shape the people strategy for one of the UK's most complex and fast-paced logistics operations? Can you influence at senior leadership level while leading a high-performing HR and Payroll team? Do you thrive on driving engagement, culture, compliance, and business performance through people?

We are looking for a HR Manager to join our M&S, Fashion, Home & Beauty site in Bradford. Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner and forming a key part of the site Leadership Team, you'll lead the delivery of the people agenda across the operation, ensuring alignment of culture, compliance, talent, organisational structure, and people processes. You'll also lead the HR team and oversee the Payroll function.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on operational delivery, helping to create an engaged, high‑performing workforce while supporting the business through change and growth.

This is a full‑time, permanent role, working predominately Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
  • Lead the HR and Payroll functions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and delivery of the site's People Plan
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, talent development, and succession planning
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Trade Union representatives, leading on employee relations matters and complex case management
  • Analyse people metrics, including absence, turnover, headcount, and performance data, providing insight to support business decisions and KPI delivery
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR, Payroll, Communications, and Training & Learning teams to ensure exceptional service and continuous improvement
What You Need To Succeed At GXO
  • Proven HR leadership experience within a fast-paced operational environment, ideally logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or retail
  • Strong employment law knowledge with significant experience managing complex employee relations issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams while influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions and managing collective agreements and consultation processes
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and change management skills with the ability to drive business performance through people
