About the role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across our cloud-based platform. This is a high-impact, standalone role working closely with multiple engineering teams. You will be the single point of accountability for quality, driving automation, enforcing standards, and ensuring releases meet a high bar. This role is approximately 70% focused on test automation and 30% on manual QA, with direct involvement in the release process.

You will help the team move faster without sacrificing reliability and you will be expected to push back when quality is at risk.

Longer-term, this role will play a key part in building and leading a QA function, including hiring and mentoring additional QA engineers as the organization scales.

What you ll do

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites covering the cloud platform end-to-end.
• Expand automated test coverage across:
• • Web applications
  • APIs and web services
  • Data workflows (Mongo
    
    DB, Postgres)
  • AI-driven and event-based workflows
• Partner with engineers early in the development lifecycle to:
• • Define test strategies
  • Identify edge cases
  • Improve testability of features
  • Use Playwright and modern automation practices to reduce regression risk and release friction.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Git Hub Copilot) to improve testing velocity and quality.

• Execute exploratory, regression, and release testing.
• Validate complex workflows where automation coverage is incomplete or evolving.
• Identify gaps in automation and systematically convert manual test cases into automated tests.
• Provide high-signal feedback on usability, edge cases, and risk areas.

• Actively participate in the release process.
• Ensure releases meet defined quality standards and acceptance criteria.
• Perform release sign-offs and risk assessments.
• Identify recurring quality issues and drive systemic fixes—not just one-off bug resolution.

• Own QA test case management, including:

  • Traceability between requirements, tests, and defects
• Work closely with Product and Design teams (via Jira and Figma) to ensure requirements are testable and clearly understood.
• Continuously improve QA processes, documentation, and standards across teams.

• Serve as a strong quality advocate across the organization.
• Hold engineering teams accountable to quality standards.
• Be confident, direct, and constructive when raising concerns.
