The Role: IT Asset Management Specialist

This role exists to ensure Switch’s technology assets are tracked, maintained, and used responsibly across their lifecycle. You will manage day‑to‑day asset records, support audits, and help teams make informed decisions about acquisition, use, and retirement. The role focuses on accuracy, follow‑through, and steady operational execution. This is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.

• Maintain accurate records of IT and network assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and related components.
• Use asset management tools to track location, ownership, warranties, and lifecycle status.
• Perform routine audits and reconciliations to correct gaps or inconsistencies.
• Coordinate with IT and procurement to support asset purchases, deployments, and returns.
• Manage asset distribution, refresh, and retirement in line with company standards.
• Monitor asset life cycles and flag upcoming renewals, replacements, or risks.
• Identify basic cost‑saving opportunities through better asset utilization.
• Produce standard reports on inventory status, compliance, and usage.

• You work carefully and value accurate, well‑maintained data.
• You follow established processes and raise issues when something looks off.
• You can manage routine work independently and know when to ask for help.
• You communicate clearly with IT, procurement, and business partners.
• You are reliable and consistent in completing assigned work.

• Experience supporting IT asset management, network operations, or a related IT function.
• Working knowledge of hardware, software, and license tracking.
• Experience using asset management or service management tools.
• Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic reporting tools.

• Familiarity with ITIL concepts or asset lifecycle best practices.
• Experience with tools such as Service Now, Solar Winds, Lansweeper, or similar platforms.
• A bachelor’s degree in a technology or business‑related field is helpful, but equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
