Missions

Within the Department of Medical Information (DIM) at the CHU de Reims, the statistician conducts numerical studies and mathematical models to identify the causes of studied phenomena, using IT resources (hardware and software) to aid decision-making, anticipate, or predict useful measures.

They ensure the collection, organization, and exploitation of data to make it usable and meaningful.

• Design and implementation of tools and/or methods specific to the field of activity
• Advisory services to decision-makers regarding choices, projects, and activities in the field
• Verification of the conformity and/or validity of documents related to their domain
• Development, implementation, and exploitation of dashboards specific to the field of activity
• Management and processing of data/information (research, collection, analysis, prioritization, dissemination, classification, follow-up)
• Conducting studies and synthesis work related to their field of activity
• Conducting surveys, data, and interviews related to their field of activity
• Keeping data/files related to the field of activity up to date
• Contribution to the production of medical information (MCO [medicine, surgery, and obstetrics], SMR [medical and rehabilitation care], and PSY sectors): monthly production in conjunction with the physician of PMSI (Information Medicalization Systems Program) MCO, SMR, and PSY files, and also FICHCOMP or annex files for chronic pathology packages
• Exploitation of data, including extraction of data from national PMSI databases via the hospital data platform of the ATIH (Technical Agency for Hospital Information)
• Participation in the automation of queries for revenue tracking and optimization
• Participation in the resolution of grouping anomalies or in the correction of coding in conjunction with TIM and DIM Physicians
