Amazon’s North America Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Automation Implementation and Execution (TAI‑E) team is looking for Technicians to create a best‑in‑class network and maintain sustainable yard systems within Amazon Transportation Services. This hourly position supports TOM leaders in maintaining and troubleshooting systems and technology related to the yard, as well as process validation for tools used by field teams.

As a TOM Technician you will innovate and implement automated solutions to drive operational excellence, provide high‑quality support for computer and electronic hardware, operating systems, and software used in TOM‑managed yards, and troubleshoot non‑standard problems.

• Align with the operations team to understand the tools and systems that are not working correctly and determine appropriate remedies.
• Take ownership of all existing systems and technology that are part of TOM gate and yard operations, including approved systems not yet implemented at your site.
• Provide technical support for tools such as ALPR and other gate and yard technologies.
• Monitor processes through systems and technology to identify deviations from standard work.
• Pilot test updates to existing tools and implement new hardware, software, cameras, and computer instrumentation.
• Deep‑dive and identify process‑improvement opportunities to use yard and gate technology more efficiently and reduce process time.
• Manage and communicate system‑performance issues.
• Travel up to 50% within a 50‑mile radius from home.
• Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk for 10‑12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
• 1+ year of operating‑system support experience in a corporate setting (Windows, Mac, or Linux).

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field.
• 2+ years of supporting and maintaining a corporate network environment.
• 2+ years of professional or military experience.
• 2+ years of network troubleshooting and support experience.

• Base hourly rate: $25.00 – $41.00 USD (location: USA, IA, Bondurant).
