The Field Application Scientist (FAS) is a customer‑facing technical expert responsible for providing customer training, technical and application support, and pre‑sales support for the HID core product portfolio across Western North America.

This position's primary responsibility is to ensure customers succeed in implementing, using, and optimizing HID products and workflows. The FAS works directly with customers to deliver technical training, troubleshoot applications and workflows, provide post‑sales application support, and partner with commercial colleagues on pre‑sales activities.

• Deliver customer training on HID products, applications, and workflows through on‑site and remote training sessions.
• Provide technical and application support, including troubleshooting customer workflows, technical inquiries, and product performance issues.
• Support pre‑sales activities through technical consultation, product demonstrations, presentations, and workflow discussions with prospective customers.
• Provide post‑sales application support to help customers successfully implement, adopt, and optimize HID technologies.
• Partner with Sales and other commercial colleagues to provide scientific and technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Technical Support, Service, Product Management, and other internal teams to resolve customer needs and improve the customer experience.
• Maintain current knowledge of HID products, applications, workflows, and relevant developments in forensic science and human identification.
• Document customer activities and provide relevant field and customer feedback to internal teams.

This is a remote, field-based position supporting Western North America. Candidates should reside in California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, or Nevada to provide effective regional coverage.

The position requires travel of up to approximately 70% to support customer training, technical and application support, pre‑sales activities, product demonstrations, and other customer‑facing engagements.

• Bachelor's degree in forensic science, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
• 5+ years of experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree, in forensic DNA workflows or a related technical role, including hands‑on laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated experience with forensic DNA instrumentation, chemistries, and analysis software.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to effectively address complex scientific, application, and workflow challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex scientific and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
