As a Material Plannin Specialist
, you’ll play a vital role in keeping production on track by reviewing and validating MRP data in SAP to ensure materials align precisely with production schedules. You’ll partner with Planning Supervisors to maintain data integrity, resolve system discrepancies, and support procurement and inventory control efforts that prevent disruptions on the floor. From leading inventory improvement initiatives and reducing excess stock to coordinating end-of-contract material reconciliation and training fellow expediters, you’ll combine analytical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and process-driven thinking to strengthen planning reliability and optimize material flow across operations.
the Material Planning Specialist here’s the work you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Planning Supervisors to validate and maintain MRP data integrity within SAP. Ensure accurate material signals that drive effective inventory control, procurement activity and uninterrupted production flow.
- Assist Material Planning Supervisors with MRP review, issue resolution and transactional planning tasks. Provide backup coverage during absences to ensure continuity in production support, inventory alignment and procurement coordination.
- Lead production floor inventory initiatives aimed at improving material flow, reducing excess and obsolete stock and optimizing inventory turns. Drive process improvements through root cause analysis, while training and supporting expediters to strengthen execution at the line level.
- Collaborate with Program management and the Disposal Team to manage end-of-contracts materials, ensuring timely reconciliation, SAP accuracy and compliant disposal of excess or residual inventory.
- Provide training and ongoing guidance to expediters on inventory practices, material movement and process standardization.
- In-depth understanding of MRP systems, production scheduling, SAP functionality and inventory management principles.
- Analytical mindset with capability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across functions and levels.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and SAP.
- HS Diploma or GED Required
- BS in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Supply Chain, Operations or Business Preferred
- 2+ years production operations, material planning or procurement Required
- Must possess a valid REAL
-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant. - A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
- Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $47,040 - $70,560 annually
